The automotive industry has advanced very quickly and the addition of airbag systems created a dynamic new business opportunity. Airbag Service has been the leader in airbag system repairs since 1992, and we’re using this strength and experience to become the premier supplier of interior technology services across the nation.
 
The story begins in 1987, while Douglas Hansen was working as a Senior Project Engineer for the Rocket Research Company. They specialized in developing rockets and solid propellant systems for the military and received a contact to develop new airbag systems for the automotive industry. This exciting new project involved designing and crash testing airbag systems for a variety of different car manufacturers. We realized that advanced automotive safety was here to stay, and that a high tech service company was needed to support this new technology. In June of 1992, Mr Hansen opened the first Airbag Service location in Seattle to test the feasibility of the business system. The company showed steady growth, and by mid-1993 was already planning for expansion. “Our vision was to create a network of professionals who would work together, share technical knowledge, and become the premier service providers of this new industry”, said, Mr Hansen. To reach this goal, he established business systems, training programs, custom software, and technical support programs.   They opened their first franchise in 1994, and now have successful operations across North America. The network of franchisees and company owned stores share technical resources and experience across the nation, and are recognized as the best airbag service professionals in the industry.
 
Over the years, safety systems expanded throughout the interior of the car and Airbag Service expanded with them. In order to properly service airbag systems, we have to work on every aspect of the vehicles’ interior. We now support much more than just airbags, and we offer services for electrical repair, dashboards, steering columns, seats, interiors, electronics, and computer diagnostics. Our motto became “Everything Inside The Glass”, and the name, TechZone, reflects our expanded technical expertise, business direction, and market opportunity.
